If you email me, I receive your email address, name if supplied, message and any attachments or other information you choose to send. I use these to answer you, discuss potential work and manage professional correspondence or requests to read my writing. Providing this information is voluntary, but I need a way to reply if you want a response.
Enquiries through this portfolio are not used for marketing and are not added to an Endlesss mailing list. Endlesss is a separate business website with its own privacy information.
The lawful basis is my legitimate interests in responding to correspondence, maintaining professional relationships and protecting my work. Where you ask to engage me for work, processing needed to discuss or perform that engagement may instead be necessary for steps towards, or performance of, a contract. Legal obligations may require some records to be kept.
hosting, email and external services
Cloudflare hosts and delivers this website. OVH provides the domain's email service. These providers may process technical information, including IP addresses, request times and security or delivery information, to operate and protect their services. Necessary hosting and security processing supports my legitimate interests in running a reliable, secure portfolio.
Films hosted on my Endlesss website are delivered through Cloudflare. Google Fonts supplies some typefaces, and the reading-room PDF viewer loads software from Cloudflare's cdnjs service. Requests to these external services disclose technical information such as your IP address and browser details to the provider.
The YouTube trailer player loads only when you choose to play it. YouTube may then process viewing and device information and use storage under Google's policies. You can instead follow the film's YouTube link. Other external links take you to independently operated websites.

Where relevant, their arrangements include adequacy decisions or contractual safeguards for international transfers; their policies explain the applicable arrangements.
cookies, storage and visitor statistics
This portfolio has no advertising pixel or marketing analytics tag. The existing reading-room interface uses temporary browser session storage to remember that its interface has been unlocked; this is not visitor tracking. Hosting and security services may use necessary cookies. Any additional visitor-statistics service will be described here before it is enabled.
retention
I keep correspondence only for as long as it is needed to deal with the enquiry, maintain a relevant professional relationship, fulfil an engagement, or meet applicable legal, accounting or dispute-related needs. The purpose of the correspondence, whether a matter remains active and any relevant obligations determine how long it is retained. Information that is no longer needed should be deleted. You can ask me about retention or request deletion using the address above.
your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask to access, correct or erase your information, restrict its use, object to processing based on legitimate interests, or receive information in a portable form. These rights are subject to applicable exceptions. I do not use your information for automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
