Ainhoa has had a vivid imagination from a young age and took to writing early on. After her degree in journalism, she discovered screenwriting during a course in New York and found her calling. She has been honing the craft ever since, eventually working with a Script Angel coach to bring her skills up to a professional level.

In 2022 she wrote and produced her first play, Inside Lorena, a comedy staged at the Bread and Roses Theatre in London, and played the lead. Her training as an actor has shaped not only how she writes dialogue, but how deeply she understands a character's wants and needs. Since 2026 she has also written and directed short films made entirely with AI, work that forces a story down to its essence.

Ainhoa takes her inspiration from the unknown. She is drawn to the edges of our understanding: how far altered states of the mind can take us, what the numbness of modern life is doing to us, and what comes after we pass.

script development

She builds worlds by working out why things are the way they are, so that they hold together on the page and on screen.

From there, she builds outward. Characters are shaped from the inside, with their desires, fears and contradictions driving the choices they make. Their arcs grow naturally from those choices: what they think they want pulling against what they actually need, while the story puts increasing pressure on them.

When developing a series, she looks at both the individual episode and the story as a whole. Whether a series is driven by a continuing narrative or by more self-contained episodes, she looks at how each instalment contributes to the larger shape of the story, how the pieces connect, and whether the momentum is sustained as the series unfolds.

And throughout the process, she looks for the places where a story stops feeling true: the unexplained choice, the moment that doesn't quite earn what comes next. Those gaps are often where a script loses its grip, and finding the right fix before moving on is part of her craft.

She aims to make a story feel inevitable, so that every turn feels earned and there is never any question of why the characters do what they do.
